Up at 7:00 to watch the morning routine. Both Alina and Stine trying to get the sleep out of their eyes and the ever chipper Johannes fixing and setting out coffee and breakfast and making lunches for himself and Alina. Things were quickly eaten and cleaned up leaving me to watch them don their bike helmets and head out to work and school. I took my time after they left and finally headed out to Johannes’ office at the University. He promised to show me Neils Boar’s office and lecture room. It was also where Johannes defended his thesis to get his PHD in Physics. Not sure made this place more important.

The lecture hall where Johannes defended his thesis and where. Neils Boar lectured.

After phone calls of inquiry, much up and downstairs, and walking thru corridors we were finally told that tours were granted only on Wednesday and Fridays. However the man in charge agreed to give us a quick 5 minute tour. Which became the 45 minute in-dept tour that was quite interesting and also focused on the art in the rooms when he found out my background. Quite a place of history and even Johannes learned a thing or or two from the guide.

After that there was coffee Along the large lakes that decide old town from the newer part of the city. Johannes was soon off to work and I headed into town finding a sculpture exhibition along the way that also proved to be a refuge fro a cloud burst that even as it occurred was not reported on any of my weather apps. The show was forgettable but Had one piece that included a turntable perched atop some contraptionthat included a broom. Ever so often the record world loudly begin to plan whereupon the broom would be jerked up and down banging on the plywood supporting the turntable which would then cease playing. Being that mirrored my own life back home – me wielding the broom – I guess it had some merit. As soon as the rain stopped I amble down the street toward Kong’s Nytorv which proved to be a tony street with the Design Museum and numerous galleries. I poked around but was really looking for lunch and realized this was the wrong part of town to find a cheap one. Finally stumbled on a Shwarma shop and satisfied my jones started yesterday on my way home. After lunch I continued my stroll but more rain forced me to duck into a coffee shop where I worked on some  drawings until I could make my way home.

Tonight Stine had made reservation at a very good restaurant that served NJulius Bloms Gade 43,3euveau Danish food and I was very excited to clean up and make myself presentable for our evening out. I’m not good at describing or critiquing food so the following menu and photos will have to do.

This is not a taco! And. It’s filled with lobster…

This soup was a “surprise extra” and had bits of octopus.

After dinner.

All was a delightful medley of plates each arriving separately and removed before the next one was presented a wide variety of  textures and flavors, and, even tho I mentioned I don’t eat beets or octopus I did consume some of both. One in a soup and the other to color a chocolate trifle. This was a great experience and so nice to share it with Stine and Johannes.
